A year ago I was invited to watch the filming of a special movie focused on the true experience of an Army Chaplain and his wife as he deploys for the first time. It is a honest depiction of the challenges that come with the separation and emotional toll that are only too real for many military families. As parents we watch and worry as our children go off to war, not just about them but also about the families left behind. I loved being a small part of this because in spite of so much loss this is a story of hope and redemption.
I encourage all of you to go and bring neighbors and friends. It is good to have our communities understand the challenges we face. Oh and watch for a glimpse of yours truly in her big screen debut. Yes that’s me in the medal ceremony for about ten seconds. 🙂
